    About event

    As an independent, nonprofit, global association, ISACA® (www.isaca.org) engages in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading knowledge and practices for information systems. ISACA® organizes Computer Audit, Control and Security conferences annually for each continent. This year, ISACA® has chosen Bangkok Chapter to host this annual conference for Asia-Pacific in Bangkok, under the name “Asia Pacific Computer Audit, Control and Security 2018” or ASIA Pacific CACS 2018. The event will take place on 20th – 21st September 2018 at Swissotel Le Concorde Hotel, Ratchadapisek Road.

    The conference will cover topics such as Information System Audit & Assurance, IT Security & Cybersecurity, GRC and COBIT 5, Innovation and Emerging Technology, and Panel Discussion on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We invite reputable, honorable speakers from all over the world to contribute their knowledges and experiences in this event. The event shall be conducted in English and the materials distributed in the event will be in English.

    The theme of Asia Pacific CACS 2018 Conference is “Governance 4.0: Connected, Security and Privacy” reflecting the emerging significant governance issues concerning security and privacy in the connected digital business. The primary purpose of the ASIA Pacific CACS is to enable regional and international Information Systems researchers and practitioners to meet in an annual forum that maximizes the opportunity for the exchange of information and insights as well as for networking. Our audience includes executives, management and professionals in Strategy /Governance, Risk Management, Security, Audit/Assurance, Compliance.

    Ajarin Pattanapanchai
    Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Digital Economy and Society

    Ms. Ajarin Pattanapanchai was appointed as Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Digital Economy and Society on 1 October 2017. Prior to taking this executive position at the Ministry, she had spent her career at Office of the Board of Investment (BOI) since 1984. During that period, she was involved in many high profile projects development in petroleum & petrochemical sector, chemical sector, energy and alternative energy sector. She was also in charge of formulating investment promotion policy for many target sectors including policy to promote hi-tech industries such as aerospace, medical devices, biotechnology, and R&D in the country. Her major positions in BOI include Director of Planning and Development Division, Director of Chemical Division, Director of Services and Public Utilities Division, Director of Management Information System Division, Senior Executives Investment Advisor, and lastly Deputy Secretary General of BOI.

    Ms. Ajarin Pattanapanchai holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand and a Master of Business Administration, Youngstown State University, Ohio U.S.A.

    Brennan P. Baybeck

    is vice president of Global IT Risk Management for Oracle Corporation (USA).

    Baybeck leads IT security risk management for Global Customer Support Services at Oracle Corporation. In this role, he also is responsible for leading security, privacy and availability for Global IT’s key enterprise IT services, including GIT’s cloud initiatives. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT security, risk, audit and consulting and has worked in various industries designing, implementing and operating enterprise-wide programs to address global security risks. He has held leadership positions at Sun Microsystems, StorageTek and Qwest Communications, and served as an information security risk consulting manager for several years. Baybeck also has been actively involved with ISACA for more than eight years, serving as chair for various working groups and as a board director.

    Brian Hay APM has a rare blend of cyber security skills and business attributes. Long considered a Thought Leader in the world of Cyber Security he learned his craft not from the technical demands of the industry but rather by focusing on the activities of organised crime and cyber criminals. Having developed the security concept of the “Lifecycle of Cybercrime” he consults with key clients to understand their business strategies and seeks to assist organisational objectives whilst ensuring the highest levels of security. Recently with Unisys as Lead CISO Advisor APAC, Security he was responsible for managing and developing Unisys’ Security Consulting business for Asia Pacific, while delivering operational and service excellence. Prior to joining Unisys, Brian was General Manager, Security for Dimension Data, Australia. Prior to this Brian was Detective Superintendent at Queensland Police, where he served 35 years. Since 2004, h.e has worked extensively in the area of financial, identity and cybercrime. He was Commander of the Queensland Police Fraud & Cyber Crime Group, Chair of the Australia New Zealand Police Advisory Agency’s eCrime Working Group, a pivotal driver of the Australian Cybercrime Online Reporting Network, and member of the Federal Attorney-General’s National Cybercrime Working Group.

    • She is currently the ASPAC Cyber Security Lead. She has over 16 years of working experience where she has had the opportunity to consult multiple clients on Unified Compliance and Risk Management, Business Continuity Planning, Information Governance, IT GRC, Information Security Management Systems, Security Architecture, Security Remediation Programs, Security Assessment especially to the Financial, Telecommunications, Energy, and Government sectors.
    • She has also performed a number of information security engagement within Energy (Power and Oil and Gas) and Telecommunication Companies covering Process Control Domain Systems and critical infrastructure for Telecommunications Companies

    Prof. Yam started his professional career in international auditing and information security in 1984. He has held management positions at KPMG, and a number of multi-national corporations, including Guardian Royal Exchange, AXA Insurance, Prudential Insurance, and Standard Chartered Bank. Prof. Yam is currently the Chairman and CEO of Focus Strategic Group Inc, a consulting firm providing Business and Technology advisory services, with special focus on IT auditing, Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance, internal auditing, risk management and cyber-security. He has been very active in professional and community services and served in leadership role of numerous local and international professional bodies. Most notably, Prof. Yam served as the International Vice President of ISACA International from 2004-2009, President of ISACA China Hong Kong Chapter from 1996-1998, Chairperson of Hong Kong Computer Soceity’s Information Security Specialist Group from 2002-2011, Member and Chairperson of the Nominating Committee for ACIIA (Asian Confederation of the Institutes of Internal Auditors) from 2008-2014, and was the Founder of the Hong Kong Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Recently, he served as Director of ISACA International, the Chairperson of ISACA’s CCMB (Certification and Career Management Board), a member of ISACA’s Strategic Advisory Council, and a member of ISACA’s Ethics Committee. He is currently a Governor of IIA (Institute of Internal Auditors) Hong Kong, an Executive Committee Member of Hong Kong Computer Soceity’s Information Security Specialist Group, and a member of the ISACA International’s Nominating Committee. He has been appointed by the Hong Kong Government as a member of the Certification Board of the Hong Kong Institute for IT Professional Certification since 2011.

    Prof. Yam has been an adjunct professor and part-time lecturer for universities in China, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, and Australia, and is a frequent article contributor to several professional journals. He is a very popular speaker of a wide variety of topics at seminars and conferences for professional organisations such as IIA, ISACA, and ACFE, and government agencies, including the INTERPOL and the Asian Development Bank. In recent years, Prof. Yam has been focusing on promoting the awareness and best practices of Corporate Governance, IT Governance, Risk Management and Controls, Frauds, as well as the COSO and COBIT frameworks, in the Asia Pacific Region. He has a Master degree in Innovation Leadership, and has been actively introducing Innovation Leadership as a core skill for Audit and Risk Professionals.

    Prof. Yam is the recipient of numerous awards for his contribution to the profession, including the prestigious International Best Speaker Award by ISACA International, and the top alumni honor, Alumni Achievement Medal, by the University of Waterloo Faculty of Mathematics. He was elected as Fellow of several leading professional associations, including the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, the Hong Kong Computer Society, The Institute of Public Accountants, the Institute of Financial Accountants, and the Hong Kong IT Joint Council.

     
    Graham Carter
    CISA, CGEIT

    Graham Carter is the IT Risk and Compliance Manager at ABB Limited. For ISACA he has contributed to ISACA’s COBIT 5 Risk Scenarios publication, sat on the CGEIT exam review committee and is currently part of ISACA’s GDPR working group that produced the recent GDPR Implementation Guide.

    Graham has previously worked within the FMCG and Pharmaceutical industries. At ABB, a Swedish-Swiss multinational corporation operating in power and automation technology sector, he has developed their global ITGC Sarbanes-Oxley framework. His current focus is developing their next level IT security controls framework to support multiple external standards and legislations, including GDPR

    Topic: Driving Control Accountability in an Enterprise
    This presentation will demonstrate how to quickly implement a controls monitoring framework using simple tools. This framework is used to assigns appropriate owners for driving continuing control hygiene across an enterprise to the mitigate operational risks. This methodology is based on a real world security based example that is both scalable, repeatable and out-come driven.

    James has been instrumental in implementing comprehensive governance, risk management, compliance and audit frameworksand solutions for top corporations and organizations across industries throughout the Asia Pacific region for close to 20 years. Hehas successfully worked with clients’ Senior Management and Board of Directors in addressing corporate-wide issues relating togovernance, risk and controls compliance, linking risk management and business objectives through business planning andmeasurement of business performance.

    He currently drives the RSA Archer Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) solution’s business across major markets in AsiaPacificand Japan (APJ) region executing on RSA’s go to market strategy through innovation and solution-based advisory.

    James has many years in the risk management and internal audit profession specializing in objective-based risk managementand risk-based internal audits for public listed companies, multinationals and the government sector in the region. He hasintegrated organizational GRC into a seamless function providing objectivity and assurance to Management and Board ofDirectors based on the 3-lines of defence model. As part of the downstream function of governance, he was also involved in theimplementation of Business Continuity Management system and is familiar with the global standards in this area.
